04_Gruben – Zinal – English

The Matterhorn Tour crosses the cultures and languages of the Valais. From Gruben in the Tourtemagne valley, hikers reach the French-speaking Valais via the Meiden pass at an altitude of 2,790 metres.

From the Col du Meid, which also forms the language border between German and French, incredible views await you.

The last part of the route follows the route of the legendary Sierre-Zinal race and finally descends to the village of Zinal.

Lake Arpitettaz

Enjoy the beautiful surroundings of Lake Arpitettaz, which can be reached on foot in around 2 hours from the Les Plats de la Lée parking lot.
This small lake is located on the hiking trail to the Cabane d'Arpitettaz, about a 2-hour walk from the Les Plats de la Lée parking lot, and is the ideal place for a picnic with the family. Enjoy one of the most beautiful panoramic views of the peaks and their glaciers.
